Genetic Breeds

Albian Ant Norns

A very social breed, Albian Ant Norns like to live in large groups. Ant Norns normally live only about an hour, but they have unusual breeding habits; the lifespan of males decreases with each mating, but the lifespan of females increases. Female Ant Norns that have mated and laid the most eggs are called "queens" and will usually outlive their expected lifespan. Albian Ant Norns also have a strong immune system and can digest most plant poisons. Thanks to kezune for testing them for me.

Hip-Hop Grendels

These colourful Grendels are much more social than normal Grendels, and will even dance when in each other's company! They also use a modified version of Lis Morris' Boney Grendel genome.

COBs and Fixes

Tomato and Nut Realism Update

Modifies the sprites of the Tomato and Nut plants so that they change colour as they grow, much like their real-life counterparts. They will also turn brown over time as they die. 

 

 

 

 

Grendel and Ettin Eggs

Adds a pair of Grendel and Ettin eggs to the hatchery. These eggs use Lis Morris' Breedable Ettin and Grendel genome, so if you want to breed your Ettins and Grendels, please download the Breedable Ettin and Breedable Grendel packs available here.

 

 

 

 

C2 Cacti Launcher Sprite Fix

This fix switches the images of the Creatures 2 Cacti Launchers so that they actually correspond to the type of cactus seed each launcher produces.

Genetic Breeds

Pink Strawberry Norns

These Norns are easily frightened and are generally very shy, but if you're nice to them, they might take a liking to you. They also change colour as they grow, from dark green to their trademark pink and green!

Note: You can download an updated CFE version of this genome here. This is only a genome file, so make sure you have the original version already installed in your game!

 

 

Salamander Norns

Created for the CCSF 2011, Salamander Norns are strictly carnivorous, and plants and fruits have no nutritional value to them. You should feed your Salamander Norns bugs, critters, food (e.g. cheese) and detritus.

 

 

 

 

Agents & Fixes

Furby (C3/DS)

The Furby will keep your bored creatures entertained and is a great companion for lonely Norns. It will also speak one of five phrases when pressed. Thanks to Horstj for helping me create this agent.

 

 

 

 

Quiet Portals

Did you ever find the humming sound of the portals in Docking Station a little distracting? This sound file replaces the default portal sound effect with something much quieter (-25db to be exact), but still audible.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

C12DS Startup Music Disabler

This modified C12DS World Switcher disables the startup music that plays when starting Docking Station while C12DS is installed. I've always found the startup music to be far too loud and shrill, even at a moderate volume.

To install, simply copy and paste the included DS World SwitcherC1 into your Docking Station\Bootstrap\000 Switcher folder. A backup file is also included.

 

 

Silent Death Patch

Does what it says on the tin - it mutes the death sounds of Norns, Grendels and Ettins. Simply copy the files into the sounds directory of any Creatures game to install. Good for anyone tired of hearing norns or ettins lying on the ground moaning of starvation when the nearest cheese vendor is two steps away.

 

 

 

 

 

Soundtracks

Creatures Raised in Space

Creatures PS1 and Creatures: Raised in Space have the exact same soundtrack. However, I decided to call the collection of tracks "Creatures: Raised in Space", as the music in Raised in Space is actually unique to each area of the game, rather than being random as in its predecessor. Hopefully this will help people find their favourite tracks.
